A sea of bright, blazing, vivid markings work their way around the large brutes entire onyx black pelt. Speckled and tattered with various colors such as maroon, bright orange, and midnight blue with gold upon his crown, he is quite the demonstration of a volcanic explosion should one ever be fortunate enough to witness one. His markings emit a strong pulsating fire along with his paw pads and papaya whip eyes which are so light they almost appear white in the center and tinted orange around the outer edges of the eyes. It is no question as to how he obtained the name "Volkan". Large, foreign ears plague his forehead. Towering at nearly his arms length, they are the epitome of long accompanied by the peak of his stiff mane which stands like a Mohawk atop his head. Twin tendrils of fur hang down either side of his forehead glowing especially bright in comparison to his other markings. While the front half of this brute is stiff and fluffed, the hind quarters are relatively short coated and quite soft, along with the "manly" fluffy tail he sports in back.

Volkan Yangın. Refined. Stern. Imperial. Warmonger. Any of those words could be used to describe this brute, but they would only be scratching the surface. Hidden deep within him is a gentle, warm, and nurturing nature. His love, dedication, and absolute loyalties are tied to his pack. He stands proud of his heritage and his breed. A purebred. A dignified warrior. Fluent in both the native tongue of most wolves as well as Turkish, to which he holds a slight accent. He holds himself nobly at all times. His rough, coarse outer shell prevents most from seeing into him, although at times he may slip. He would much rather be seen a fierce, heartless warrior than a compassionate tenderfoot...for that would bring his family such little protection, especially should they have spies in their midst. You may also catch him caught in a daydream off the coasts by the water, where stern eyes turn soft as his mind drifts off to foreign planes. His intelligence is regarded higher than average as he often spends most of his time in calculations and deep thought. He's not one to flap his lips. In fact he tries to speak as minimal as possible unless spoken to. He knows when to fold and when to play all his cards...and he certainly knows the place he's given, should he find those above him to be worthy of his pledge. While to outsiders he seems cruel and unwavering, he would gladly sacrifice any part of him for the sake of his own. Love is not beyond him, just a short distance away waiting for the one who may see past his strict facade.
Indeed, a tender heart waits for those he pledges his loyalties, but a cruel, unforgiving one awaits those who intend them harm. On the battlefield he tends to purge himself of all emotion. May it be females, pups, or a band of vicious cutthroats, he will protect his family and should one day death come to greet him he will die a warriors death, never looking back and never cowering under the torture of he or she who has bested him. For in his heart he knows all the tragedies he has committed and he will die for them as all those who have committed the unspeakable have. Yet, he shall not regret those terrible feats he has accomplished...for they were in the name of his noble line and for that, is a reason worth dying with honor. But oh, we digress! For the hour of his carnage is not yet at hand, and the warrior Volkan must still climb a ways before he meets the reaper. A stone fortress to those who gain this warrior in their ranks, he will never forsake their trust nor reveal their greatest secrets. He truly is proud of who he is and shares great joy in the feats of accomplishment held by his pack.

Volkan was born to a small clan that rooted itself proudly at Dragon Volcano in Victus. He is the 4th oldest in his family, born to his dame Selin's second litter. The first three pups consisted of his older brothers Ga'Khan and Mazhar, as well as his eldest sister Sidika. All three were fine prodigies of his father, Ruşen's legend. Ruşen was a proud warrior in his village, a Captain of the Fifth Division...and with his title came great responsibility as well as the need to produce an heir to make the family name uphold his honor. Ga'Khan excelled in all areas, a hulking brute of great size who was said to feel no pain or even emotion..which inevitably led to his downfall in the end when he was unable to protect his greatest weak point due to the fact he could not feel. Mazhar excelled in magics, quickly climbing the ranks to Master at the young age of two. No one knew exactly how he accomplished such feats, but it was almost as if magic spoke to him. The last of the first litter, Sidika, excelled in both areas...a true amazonian Templar. Yet while she was well balanced in both arts, she was not as skilled in either of them as her brothers, leaving their sire in great doubt to her capacity for greatness. Selin's second litter consisted of Volkan, Nergis, and two stillborn, one of which looked exactly like Volkan...leading his sire to believe he was the chosen warrior...the strongest twin and the strongest will out of all of his children. Ga'Khan, emotionless and uninterested in anything but the act of war ignored his younger brother, playing no part in his development or even speaking a word of wisdom to him. Mazhar and Sidika embraced him dearly while Nergis watched on in jealousy and deeply seated rage. She was a dark child, feeding off despair and the anguish of others. Their sire was greatly disappointed, turning further away from the child as their dame sheltered her and taught her in the ways of magic as she desired...for a mothers love knows no evil and her children were her world in her eyes. With the guidance of his sister Sidika and the loving, tender care from his brother Mazhar as he stepped out into the realm of magic, he began to grow. Sidika was stern, noble, and beautiful in every way. Her form and stance in battle was an art. Each motion delicate and defined...there was a reason each step was made and a calculation behind each strike. Mazhar was tender and humorous, passing his knowledge of magic in ways only a child would appreciate. With each mistake Sidika lifted him and pressed him to try harder..and with every accomplishment Mazhar smiled greatly upon him. Their sire, unimpressed by the progress, began to turn to Ga'Khan as his rightful heir. For the first year of his life he followed his siblings everywhere, Mazhar being the peak of his interest. It wasn't until he was six months of age he discovered his dearest brothers darkest secret...he had fallen in love with an Invisus female. Sneering at the idea he could possibly want to mix their proud bloodline with that of an Invisus, his brother reprimanded him, teaching him there was no reason to look down upon a race who held half their blood, but more-so to purify them...and with his magics he assured him one day he would purify them and close the gap between both their ranks. It was then for the first time he laid eyes upon Sivas Kerr, the females younger brother. Much to his surprise, there was not much of a difference between the two, except for the sheer fact he knew in his heart his blood ran pure while his new found friends did not.
When the time came, Volkan was accompanied by Mazhar and Sidika to tame his Soul Shadow. An ironic fate of chance between the two unlikely creatures, as Volkan was intended for the giant birds first hunt. The two struggled and fought in a trial of wills for quite some time before the bird of prey finally exhausted himself, forever binding himself to Volkan and taking on the name Rüzgar, the voice of reason behind his soul bound companion. At first, tension was held thick between the two. It was quite obvious the great bird found it rather annoying to be bound to a mere pup. Yet where ever he flew off to, where ever he went, Volkan would find him...and in time, bonds of friendship began to form, rendering the two inseparable from that day forth. Ruşen was too busy with his new found heir to involve himself with the rest of his children, deciding they would fit the ranks of the division under Ga'Khan where the specialized best. A year later, Kiraz was born, their dame dying during the childbirth, unable to deliver the rest of the litter. Their sire was outraged, determined to label the pup a terrible omen and ordered her death, by none other than Volkan, the only other son he deemed able to follow a command and hold his dignity with it as he did not yet realize he too had befriended an Invisus as Mazhar had loved one. Any ordinary solider would do as their higher-ups commanded, but any ordinary solider wasn't Volkan. It was true he held order and the chain of command high in regard...but this was his sister, his own blood and name. How could killing her be true justice? How would it help the pack? No. There was no justice in it at all...just a vengeful sire looking for someone to blame instead of embracing the last child of his beloved mate. He was a warrior, not a murderer. Outraged, Volkan deliberately disobeyed his order...and with the help of his brother Mazhar and sister Sidika, they ran from clan lands, away from their father and away from their heritage in order to save his young sisters life. With the pup in mouth, Volkan ran as fast as he could, but it was only a matter of time before the vengeful Nergis told their sire everything, outraging him further and sending a small party after them...a party in which Ga'Khan led. It wasn't long before they reached the bottom of the volcano, finding the small Invisus pack where Mazhar's beloved resided. Desperate and running out of time, they handed the pup into their care as Volkan took one final look at his baby sister before looking back up to Sivas with fire in his eyes. The pack led the small group through a hideout while Sivas and his sister, Mazhar, and a few others stayed behind to hold the lines of defense. "Volkan," his brother spoke to him. "Live long and live just. You have the blood of a warrior within you and your skills may one day surpass my own...never forget where you come from and never forget the choice we've made today, for unity and peace!" Those were the last words his brother spoke to him before they were led away. To this day he still remembers his smiling face. As Sidika, Volkan, and their soul shadows made their way through the underground passage of the small Invisus tribe they heard the clamor of battle and the cries of the innocent, something they found themselves immune to...for to die in battle was to die with honor. No tears would be shed that day, for their cause was just and the bloodshed noble. As they reached the end of the tunnel and Volkan climbed out into the world once more his sister looked back on him, her head raised tall. "Run" she commanded him, "and don't stop running until you're far from here. Our heritage and our honor rests with you now, brother" and with that, she turned and began her way back through the depths of whence they came. He thanked the Invisus who had accompanied him that far, but insisted to travel alone. He was an Acerbus...and even if he one day found a means to unite the two bloods like his brother envisioned so strongly, for now he would continue his life as an Acerbus, surrounding himself with others of the same blood and hoping that when he looked back on that day he would still feel he made the right choice...that it should be better for his sister to live an outcast and denied her rightful place among her bloodline than to be murdered in cold blood by her own family at birth and denied a life at all. |
