Historical Legends
Legends of wolves long gone in history, though their children and grandchildren still live.

Immortality: Long ago, when the Ghostflowers were still young and the idea of a council was only beginning to form, many warriors left their homelands to protect the flowers from the rising threat of those that sought the flowers out to claim them. One young warrior was a twisted fellow known as Bragian, known for his ruthlessness in battle and his great strength. It was to him the flowers blessed with the knowledge of Immortality and how to obtain it. For some time he jealously protected the secret, but as years passed and he showed no greying hairs and no sign of age his fellow warriors begged to know how he was able to survive and how he could withstand such brutal injuries and overcome them. So it was he began to sell his greatest secret in the exchange of precious adornments for himself, for his pack, titles and wealth, the mouths of all the pups of his pack fed. Treasures all beasts seek. This dishonor to the gods brought about their wrath, and the struck him with the Mark of the Cursed, a crescent moon that has been tipped on its side to show the great sinner. It is said that all wolves born of his bloodline now forever are branded with this mark to show their great shame and dishonor.

Goddess of Death: In our kind’s lowest times, a demon was born into our world, a woman of such vile and cruel intentions, there was no evil she would not sink herself into and commit. Her magic was dark and it was powerful, corruption and alluring to any that came around her. Her power drew in others, and they began to worship her as the Goddess of Death, Corruption, and Lust. Because of her follower’s faithfulness, she grew stronger and stronger until she became a God Child, a wolf who has achieved immortality, power, and the status of a God from the Spirits because of the faith that’s other had in her, even if it was of wicked intent. Rituals of the worst kind were performed in her honor. The sacrifices of many innocents blood were spilled. With this new power, she began to breed with the strongest males she could find. She gave birth to dozens of children, raising only the finest of them and destroying the others that did not fit with her darkest plans. Today, the Goddess of Death has long since disappeared, no one knows where she has gone, but her children and grandchildren still walk and breed and pollute our world with their darkness.

God of Life and Creation: Of yore, a child was birthed to better balance the tilting world. Like his complement, the Goddess of Death, he was powerful, but where she was seduced by shadows, he was seduced by the light. As he matured, the man became enthralled by innocents, children. It became his mission to travel throughout Adymeria and bless youths with good; rumors spread that those he touched, even the feeblest, survived the crucial first year. He soon caught the attention of the infamous Goddess of Death, or perhaps it was the Goddess that caught his eye. Nevertheless, good and evil countered each other for some time, which led to the Years of Amity, a period in which Adymerians did not have to live in fear. As expected, the God of Life and Creation and the Goddess of Death, Corruption and Lust bred. The morn of the birth, the Goddess of Death hurried to the Ghost Flowers, eager to sacrifice the weak and receive blessings for the strong. She birthed three frail progenies, and, in a blind rage, turned on the God of Life and Creation; he was to blame. She consumed him in entirety. It is not clear whether the God of Life and Creation ascended to the coveted role of God Child prior to or after his demise. The three children survived, hidden from Death beneath a blanket of Ghost Flowers, blessed by their Father’s blood. Presently, it is tradition for the God of Life’s descendants to be birthed amid the Ghost Flowers.

God of Omens: Back when this world was still young great destruction befell the land, the wrath of the Gods unleashed upon those who were disobedient. The weather patterns varied greatly, destroying all that lay in its path with nothing to stop it. It was then that a man stepped forth, his body unmarked and untainted by any sort of color. Because of his purity it was said he could hear the words of the Gods themselves and could tell when they would send another natural disaster their way. He traveled the lands, appearing before those just before the disaster hit. He was a sign of foreboding, a savior of sorts. Because of this, he was both loved and hated for the misfortunes he brought. He came to be called the God of Omens. It is said that his descendants still walk the earth today though they are few and far between. They are known by their albino features, as pure as the God from which they are born. It is said their tongues are often different colors, taking on either a blue or purple state to symbolize the purity and truths that fall from their mouths.

God of Pestilence: Never a man more fearful and cruel, the merciless god would bring upon disease to those he touched, sparring no one. Hated by his very nature, it was believed that those who found court with him would later succumb to a mysterious and sometimes violent illness, many times thought to be punishment from the god for past sins. Those marked by the god would bear a symbol on their bodies that would become more severe as the disease progressed. It was rumored that his children happened to take on the appearance of walking corpses, gaudy and sickly, with their milky white eyes seemingly sunken into their skulls.

The Aerico: Thought to be the servant of the God of Pestilence, it is a manifestation of illness and disease thought to carry the god's bidding and infect any who come across it. It takes on the appearance of an oversized black, inky raven, many times found to ooze a dark liquid as thick tar from midst its feathers, showering its victims with the staining substance. Its croaks are chilling, often heard when the nights are at its blackest, seeming to mock those it preys upon.

The Hermit: When magic was new to the creatures of Adymeria, a man was said to be blessed by the gods. He was a lowly hermit, choosing to live on his own in fear of those around him. The man was paranoid of the events that would occur in his future and the future of the land itself. Feeling pity towards the man, the Gods blessed him with the ability to foresee the future of himself and anyone he wished but under the one condition that he told no one of the revelations. For months the man continued his solitude and watched as the events of his life unfolded before his very eyes, events that had not yet come to pass but with time, would. The hermit could see wars, life and death within his visions and could not refrain from warning others of their imminent demise when they passed him by. Soon enough word went out about the hermit and many came from miles to have their fortunes told. He had gone without consequence but soon enough the God’s learned of his deeds and though contemplated revoking the power, instead chose to curse him and those who would be born with his blood. While his family line might retain perhaps the strongest in prophetic visions, their dreams are plagues with nightmares of their own death - the dream changing each night. Not long after the birth of his second litter the hermit committed suicide but the curse still lives strong within his line.
